Does your man still have Similac on his breath? Sorry ladies but that was too funny. Have or would you ever date a mama's boy? Now I love a man that has a strong love and respect for his mother that is an indicator of how he will treat you. Yet there is something wrong when his world revolves around her viewpoint. If she does not like you then you may not stand a chance in hell in his life. Now I will be honest I dated a mama's boy before and it drove me nuts initially. His mother had that mentality that no woman was good enough for her son. I stood my ground with her and showed her that I was good for her son and I had a great deal of respect for her as well. As time passed her and I develop a strong bond that surpassed our unforeseen breakup. There is a way to maintain your stance without stepping on her toes. He never had to choose we learned how to coexist in his world.

Baby Mama Drama

Fellas what's the BEST or WORST story you have when it pertains to dealing with the mother of your child? Back in the day before I became a mom I refused to date a man with a child because I did not have time for the drama that comes with the baby mama. Some women and men feel that the parent of their child belongs to them and should be there at their every beck and call. Then, in some instances both parents are respectful of one another's private lives. They develop the philosophy that as long as the relationship does not interfere with the parent-child relationship then everything is copastetic. From my personal experience I have seen men who claim they cannot stand there child's mother they even go so far as say they detest them. In those instances they were still sleeping with their child's mother. Or, the opposite they are still in love and care for her and really want to be with her instead of you. Children and dating are an interesting mix. Although we would love to maintain the strong family unit we have to be honest that it is not always a cohesive one. Have to be isn't always meant to be.

Lustful Thoughts

Is it possible to confuse being "in love" with the sex being outstanding and you basically being turned out by that person? You finally get the chance to hook up with your dream guy and everything is going well. The chemistry is like a brush fire that just won't die out. It's intensity is brutally hot. When your bodies interwine your body shakes uncontrollably and you have an orgasm that has you feeling like you are going to have a heart attack. This cosmic sex is always explosive when your bodies meet. Feelings began to develop could it be your are in love or in lust. The two can easily be confused, love is a constellation of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection or profound oneness. Lust is any intense desire or craving for self gratification mostly sexual desire. Love is selfless while lust is selfish. I am guilty of confusing love with lust. I was in love with lust. Lust was like an earthquake that was off the Richter scale. The tremors left me trembling everytime. Lava poured from my body like a volcano. I was confused I even thought lust was my soulmate. Lust fooled me and my appetite for him was insatiable. Finally, fate stepped in and lust was gone from my life. Love is the foundation of families and stable societies. Lust is a physical emotion that we act upon in the "heat of the moment." The two should never be confused. Are you caught up in lust?

Dangerously in Love

Would you ever take someone back? My mother always says an ex is an ex for a reason. He has been crossed off the list for a reason. A valid one. What happens when you are struggling between loneliness and longing for the way things used to be. Those sweet, tender kisses or his big strong hands carrying you in his arms. When you felt like nothing could ever make you part. He made you feel so beautiful. He was so loving, kind and caring. Of course at that point you were in the honeymoon phase. The phase prior to the reality phase when his/her true colors are revealed. During that phase his/her motives are revealed and that down to earth personality may actually be harboring a monster underneath. I agree that there are some cases where you can take someone back because as you know there are exceptions to every rule. But I caution you against making an exception the replacement of the rule. But there is one case in particular where you do not take someone back. When the hands that hold that warm embrace turns into the hands that pummel your face. That is an indefnite case of a dealbreaker. Abuse should not be tolerated in any form. If they love you they will not want to harm you. I do not want someone to love me to death. Granted I have been single for a number of years and truly miss the happiness you share with a companion you truly care about and who cares about you. But I have gotten to the point where settling is not an option. I have developed an all or nothing mentality and refuse to tolerate anything less than the best.

Dark and Lonely Night

How do you get through those long lonely nights? Your ears are hiding from the sound of the thunder and the splashes of blinding lightning outside. The beautiful rhythm of the rain is methodically beating against your window pane. Trapped inside you yearn for a tender touch a passionate kiss. Being face to face, chest to chest, tongues dancing playfully. Who do you run to? The one you want or do you break the emergency glass and settle. You are longing for that special someone but you are found in the arms of someone else. Lonely is a dark, desolate road that we sometimes stumble upon. When I find myself on that dreary path I try to push through it. Just last night I found myself aching for his caramel kiss, his big strong arms, and his warm embrace. Miles seperate us I found myself sober dialing then I abruptly hung up the phone. I decided to ride this thing out so I did some self-soothing and journaled. Writing is my source of therapy. It truly cleanses my soul.

Talk Therapy

How do you communicate with someone who lacks adequate communication skills? You are having date night with your boyfriend. You have cooked his favorite meal and now you are cuddled up on the couch watching a movie. After the movie while you two are spooning you bring up a few issues you are having with the current state of your relationship. He listens intently or so it seems, after you have finished talking you turn to him and ask him to voice his views on what you just said. Shockingly he responds with a blank stare and unresponsive lips. You have poured out your heart and soul and you are awaiting support from your man. Yet his shoulders are so cold to you in your time of need. How do you talk to someone who does not communicate verbally?

Greener Pastures

Is the grass really greener or the other side? Or is it really astroturf? The other day I ran into an ex and he was telling me how he missed me and feels he should have married me. I could not help to think what a crock of shit. I do not get it a woman will be with a man and know he has the potential for greatness and love him flaws and all. A man will find a flaw in a woman and let her go. If you have a qualitty man or woman hold onto to them. We get so caught up into new things we forget our old faithful. The one who will love and care for you no matter what. Sometimes we learn this lesson to late in life and we lose them to someone else.

I was calling this number on a flyer about a party I wanted to go to I tried like four numbers till finally I called the fifth and final one. This guy answers the phone and we start talking so I remember him from a mutual friend of ours and he asks me on a date. Our first date was on my birthday it was such a mess it was snowing and he was having car trouble so his brother drove us to my favorite restaurant at the time Red Lobster. Unbeknownst to me he was terribly allergic to seafood. We had a wonderful first date he brought me flowers and we took a walk and just talked for hours. Sometimes it is the simple things that mean the most. So what is your fondest or horrible 1st date story?

What do you do if you are caught in the infamous friend zone? You are kicking with this guy and your connection is magnetic. You are spending lots of time together. You just click and you think maybe this can lead to greater things.
